This was the partying-est wedding, ever. To all of my other weddings; I’m sorry. These guys took it to a new level. Between Phil’s wicked sense of humor, Brittany’s habit of lighting up any room she walks into, and a truly fun wedding party; there was an absolute determination to have fun that permeated every aspect of this Cleveland City Hall wedding.
Phil and Brittany said hello for the first time that day on the rooftop of their apartment building. With the city spread out behind them, they smiled and kissed, and then their awesome wedding party jumped in for some photos. We went to the Map Room, where Brittany bartends, for a quick drink. Everyone (except the pregnant bridesmaid) did a shot, and then we went to East 4th street for some fun wedding photos. After that, we finally made our way to Cleveland City Hall for the ceremony.
As a wedding photographer, there are times when I’m glad I can hide my face behind my camera. Photography is, by its nature, personal. I get to witness Love in all its varied forms on a wedding day. And I also see the ache when someone who should be there, isn’t there. I am sure Brittany’s beloved parents were in everyone’s thoughts when she danced with her brother to Stand By Me. I know I teared up, and I was glad I could hide behind my camera.
But the bittersweet moment didn’t last. Family and friends poured onto the dance floor, surrounding Brittany and Phil, and they celebrated with gusto. Here are some of my favorite images from their beautiful wedding.

Brittany carried a little reminder of her mother with her; a rose from her mother’s wedding bouquet tucked into her bouquet.
