“It was the best day of my life,” Allison said.
I believe her. Allison and Dan’s winter wedding at Shaker Heights Country Club was gorgeous. With snowflakes everywhere, a stunning dress by Jennifer Hatina at Brides by the Falls, scarlet poinsettias clustered around the altar, and white roses mingled with purple irises scattered across the tables, it would have been easy to get caught up in the beautiful details. It would have been easy to miss:
-a sister, right there for every step, supporting and loving the bride
-the heated, intense moment right before the ceremony, when that sister realized she had left the rings at home
-the anticipation and excitement on Allison’s face as she waited to walk down the aisle
-the look on Dan’s face when he finally saw her for the first time that day
-the fact that Dan and his father have the same grin
-her mother crying just a little bit when Allison danced with her father
-Dan’s parents beaming at each other on the dance floor
Every wedding is the same: two people falling in love and binding themselves to each other. And every wedding is different, comprised of a thousand little moments that illustrate who they are and how they love. It blows me away every time. Here are some favorites from Allison and Dan’s winter wedding.
