John and Christy married each other in a gorgeous lakeside ceremony on Mentor Headlands beach, surrounded by their family and friends. But first, they said their vows in private, before anyone else arrived.
I slipped into the house on the lake, where Christy was just about to put on her dress. There was an air of calm in the house. Things were quiet, the flowers were waiting in a box, and her mom was on her way. Eventually, she put the dress on, which is always a special moment. Her sister helped zip it up, while her mom fastened the necklaces.
Christy’s dad came in to see how lovely she looked. She smiled and hugged him, and the joy and pride on her parents’ faces was beautiful to see. She clutched her hand-written vows and walked down to see John for the first time that day. They said hello, and I trailed behind as they walked through the woods to the beach with their officiant. It was windy, and the sound of the waves hitting the shore got louder as we came out of the trees.
Christy and John faced each other in the sand, with the waves and the sky as witness, and told each other why they were marrying the other, and what it meant to them. They made their private vows and kissed under the puffy white clouds. I wish I could tell you what they said, but the truth is, I tried not to listen.

Hi! Great photos!
My fiancée and I would like to have a wedding similar to this one. Was the reception at the Mentor Headlands beach also? Any other info you can share would be super helpful.
Thanks!
