I love photographing weddings at the Tudor Arms Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. Built in 1929 by famed architect Frank Meade, and restored in 2011, The Tudor Arms hotel is a beautiful location full of 1920's charm. Gothic-revival architecture gives the space a classic, historical ambiance. This celebrated historical presence in Cleveland's University Circle neighborhood provides a unique and stunning backdrop for a wedding. It has two large ballrooms with several set-up options. I love the Tudor Ballroom with its two-story, floor-to-ceiling window that bathes every wedding ceremony in natural, directional light. And the Crystal Room, with it's vaulted ceiling, is the perfect setting for a decadent wedding reception. We started with bridal prep photos, then went throughout the hotel, getting bridal portraits. We had just finished doing a sexy portrait of the bride laying on the stairs, with her fluffy tulle gown spread around her on the black stairs. It was time to freshen up and get ready for her first look with the groom. I took this photo as she dashed up the Gothic revival staircase in her tulle wedding dress. To me, she looked like Cinderella, running up the stairs to the ball. This is one of my all time favorite photos because it looks romantic, ethereal, even fairy-tale like--but it's real. She's really wearing that gorgeous wedding dress, and running up the stairs to see the man she's going to marry. Real moments of beauty and romance happen everywhere--you just have to be ready to capture them. Wedding photographed at the Tudor Arms Hotel Cleveland- a DoubleTree by Hilton.
